Finally did the front brakes!
I did some searching and asking on the forum back in august or so on how to go about replacing the rotors on my '99 2500. The info from this board was just fantastic! The job wouldn't have gone NEARLY as smoothly as it did. I used a 3/4" breaker bar and a 6 FOOT LONG cheater pipe to remove the 1-11/16" axle nuts. They are very tight. We used the power steering as a press on the 4 hub-retaining bolts. It worked amazingly well. I used a dead-blow type hammer and a 3 lb sledge to remove the wheel studs from the rotor. A single sharp blow was all that was needed for each stud. The old rotor served as a solid base to beat the studs back in. The ABS sensors on the front hubs was the only real pain. My friend had to hold the hub assembly against the knuckle while I used a modified allen wrench to turn the sensor attaching bolt a 1/8 turn at a time.I applied anti-seize to the hub and axle nut upon re-assembly. The entire process for both sides took about 5 hours, including replacing the calipers and pads and bleeding the fronts. I repeat that it would've been a much tougher job without all the help from this forum. This place is great! I'll post an update somewhere down the road as to any negatives or positives. Later-

I bought BREMBO rotors from Tirerack.com. They were like 60 bucks apiece.I also bought the Hawk pads from Tirerack. Brembo didnt make calipers for the '99. I got blueprinted calipers from EGR Performance Brakes. If ya got any ?'s just ask!
