can i run the 7 micron fuel filter in my 01 instead of the 10 micron? here is the part FS19800E.

Is that a drop in filter for the canister? If it is the same dimensions, I don't see why not, but if you have a weak LP, your pressure may be too low.

hey, i'm running a racor 2 micron on mine! it is the only filter i have. i mounted it on the frame before the transfer pumps....... i threw away the stock filter but am still useing the filter housing to retain the use of the fuel heater.... so far no problems, over a year

how much for the racor? the one i checked on was pricey, but it was a fuel and air separator.

well, i work for a tanker fleet. all of our trucks run either fleetgaurd or balwin filters. well that's not necessaryly true. a few napa fillters have found their way to the trucks. any ways, if it's good enough for a isx cummins hualing 80,000 pounds with 400 degree oil, it's good enough for my little cummins isb. and in my 12 years here, a fram has never "graced" a CWT truck.
