Fleetguard if I'm in Springfield to pick it up or Wix if I don't feel like fighting the traffic. And Rotella T oil. And I use a 2 micron Fleetguard fuel filter on my Airdog.

Does anybody have the part #s for the fleetgaurd oil and fuel filters for our trucks, I think I will changeover also. Right now im using Delo 400, STP oil, and the last fuel filter was dealer installed, because they had to change the VP at the same time!!!

I use fleet guard on the fuel filters but the last time I changed the oil I put on a Fram filter and tried the Rotella T oil by Shell. Last change I used Valvoline and it did ok but the Rotella seems to be working just fine. Hope this helps..

As far as I'm concerned - FRAM is a NO GO!

Check out Geno's Garage <http://genosgarage.com/> or
Filter1 <http://filter1.com/>. I've had good service from both outfits.

If you use the Fram, ensure that there is an 'A' after the number. It should be 3894A. The plain 3894 had neoprene in the construction, which would break down and possibly plug the piston cooling jets.
The Fleetguard fuel filter is 19037, if I remember correctly. I change mine every 10K miles.

Try this for detailed part numbers.

19037 is the number for a BHAF, AH19037 is the full number.

FS19579 is the number for the fuel filter

Go to www.bobistheoilguy.com and check out the info on synthetics vs. regular oils and greases. It's interesting. By the way, only Fleetguard Filters go in/on my truck. They are recommended by Cummins and higher quality than Fram. There is also a service bulletin at my local Dodge dealer regarding aftermarket filters w/ neoprene internal gaskets that break down and are clogging the cooling nozzles under the pistons in the Cummins, causing loud clicking/clattering noise and not covered by the engine warranty!

I'm a newbie, How often should I change my oil, fuel filters? The manual says 3000 mi or 3 months under certain conditions or under none of these conditions 7500 miles or 200 hours. Is there something in between that or should I stick with what the manual says? And should I use 15W-40 My truck has 102,000miles on it what do you recommend? Thanks in advance...Brandon

Welcome to DTR Arnett, .

Me personally, I change oil and filter every 5000 miles, fuel filter gets it at 10,000 miles or as needed (plugged from a tank of bad fuel), and the air filter gets cleaned (I have a UNI re-usable filter) that gets cleaned and re-oiled every 10,000 as well.

Here's a prime example as to why you should do this periodically. The dirty filter has 10,000 miles on it.

You have a dirty fuel system, that's for sure! I change mine every 10K as well, and they aren't as dirty as that. I have 140K miles on my engine. I also have a UNI in my Scotty II, and I think I cleaned it with 30K on it.
