Fault Codes
While changing my fuel filter today and accidently unplugged the power lead to the lift pump(engine was off, ingition on). :-[<br>So, I go the check engine light and a 1693 and 0230 fault code. Tried to research what those two codes mean, but got multiple answers. Any help decoding them would be nice. ???<br>Does disconecting the batteries clear them? ???

Re:Fault Codes
Here's what I get from the page I use to decode them
P0230 Transfer pump Circuit Out Of Range
P1693 DTC Detected In ECM Or PCM
(the P0230 is in the PCM, the 1693 just means the code was also set in the ECM (or vice versa)
Both of those make perfect sense since that's what you disconnected.
Disconnecting the batteries probably won't do anything, but 3 starts of the engine with the problem corrected should clear the P0230, the P1693 might need a OBDII reader to clear it.
Here's a link to the page I use.
http://www.troublecodes.net/chrysler/96-01.shtml
(it says it's generic Chrysler 1996-2001, but I've found it is the most accurate for the 2002 Dodges)

Phox,
Thanks, the 3 starts got rid of the engine light and added that site to my favorites. ;D
Does "Out of range" mean that the lift pump was running at the wrong speed? I know the ECM can run it at 9v or 12v.
I just want to make sure I'm not overlooking another problem.
Thanks

Almost sure that it was due to the unplugging of it when the ignition (and therefore the computer) was on.
I guess "off" or "not detected" is out of range.
