Factory recommended coolant system flush procedure
What is the factory recommended procedure for flushing the coolant system, like you would find in a Dodge service manual? I've read just about every possible procedure in the search area, but wondered what dodge actually recommends. And is it ok to flush the system with tap water and then flush it the final time with distilled water and then fill it with coolant and distilled water? I'm just wondering incase I gotta flush it a bunch of times to get all the crud out.

I think there is a good write up on Geno's site. I do not think there is a problem with Tap water to flush, but obviously not the fill. You will want 50/50 distilled water and a low silicate ethyl/glcol. I believe NAPA's meets this spec, 3 gallons of each will do you. Mix them together 1 gallon at a time.
Get a 6" piece of 1/4" ful line to help to direct the flow. Be prepared for 24 quarts, although 20 is more normal.
I would run the hose through the system until it is clear. Then, You may want to get Prestone flush product and run that until warm with tap water, then drain.
The dealer may do a more thorough job with a machine, but gets $150, including fluid for this. Be careful of the radiator, as it is VERY FRAGILE Aluminum. I can spare you a sad story.
Of course, be careful with the old antifreeze, as it may kill your pets, they like this stuff.
Good luck!
