Engine Swap 2002 into 1998.5

I am in the middle of an engine swap,2002 into 1998.5,(both 5 speeds)Ive used the complete 2002 engine with all attachments with the 2002 engine
wiring harness with the 1999 pcm but I was wondering about the harness differences. The 1999 engine harness (ECM)went to the fuse box (PDM) and from the fuse box via 3 plugs to another harness and then to the PCM, the 2002 harness goes from the fuse box to the PCM and the engine (ECM)hooks up via 2 plugs at the back of the engine in the middle of the harness, everything plugs in but there are the 3 original plugs coming out of the fuse box that I assume I can leave open? Does this sound correct. I just hooked up the power tonight and I have no wait to start light and I don't hear the lift pumps or manifold heaters so I think I have something wrong? I didn't go any further. I would appreciate any info if anyone has completed a similiar swap. I have the wiring diagrams for the 2001 but not the 1998.5.
Thanks

Interesting....I'm about to drop an 01 engine into a 98.5 and I didn't get any info about engine harness compatibility. I'm sorry I can't be of any help but I'll be watching this thread too.

I did a little more checking and found that the C130 connector out of the Power Control Module is missing a bunch of required pin outs for the 2002 harness (the feeds must be in the 3 open plugs I mentioned in first post) so I am undecided if I should try and use the 1998.5 engine harness and try and figure out the crankshaft/camshaft position sensor issues or rewire the back of the C130 connector in the PDM with the required outputs from the PDM??
Any ideas out there. Ive read previous post of people doing this swap and I have not found any that mentioned rewiring the Power Distribution Module??

1998.5 Wiring Diagram

I Need 1998.5 24valve Wiring Schematics For Ecm/pcm Setup, I've Got 2001-2006 To Trade. If I Don't Get Any Action On This Thread Soon I'll Be Able To Draw My Own.

1998.5 wiring harness

I rewired the harness using a fuse box I picked up at the junk yard and swapped the required missing male pins into the c130 connector that goes to the enginge harness, I tried to match the 2001 setup, spent all weekend reading the 2001 schematics, pretty well all of the wire colours are the same except 1 (1998.5 had LT/GN wire from dash to pcm c3-29 and in 2001 its WT/VT from c3-29 to c130-32 to c134-3 to data link connector-14 in dash could sure use a 1998.5 schematic try and solve a couple of mysteries before I try and flash her up.

everything works fine except the cruise control, wonder if this is because I am using the 1999 PCM?

Wow!

You may be the new expert on this swap. Sounds like you handled it all, and can hopefully get the CC figured out. I think the clocksprings are are the same 98.5-02.

Nice work.
