Question Electrical gremlins

Hi. New here. Came to search for electrical problem clues. I've got a 2001 CTD 2500 4x4, 75k miles, AT. Mild mods (Edge Comp, turbo, BD trans mods, brake, exhaust manifold, BHAF, etc.) Tow and farming use. Had been parked for a couple of months.

Put in new batteries, then took a short 150 mi. trip. Found no A/C or heat, but blower worked. Headlights both out, but park, tails and spots OK. Left side mirror heater was DOA. Ran codes, got PO380/382 for heater circuit A/B malfunction. Checked cab fuses, OK. Had no problem starting, no CE light-up on dash, no evident symptoms with power or performance while underway. Gauges read normal. Seems entirely electrical.

With the mix of symptoms, not sure where to start trouble shooting. Relays? Any ideas or strong guesses would sure help. I'm pretty slim on Dodge diesel know-how. Looks like that'll change. Thanks.

Welcome to DTR First thing I would do is clean the battery terminals and ensure they are tight. While you are under the hood check the vacuum line at the firewall up high on the drivers side. You could have pulled it off when installing the batteries and this would give the heat/AC problems. Theses trucks have known problems with the headlight sw being underrated for the job and they fail often. Did you check the fuse in the YELLOW holder in the cab? It often gets missed and that could be the mirror.
