ECM needed ASAP!

My brothers 98.5 CTD 5 speed truck broke down on Saturday while driving to my home. He is getting a code P0230...Transfer pump [lift pump] curcuit out of range. The truck has a Holley blue pump using the LP harness as a triggered relay. I tried disconnecting the harness altogether & no changes. Sounds like ECM right? I need a ECM for this truck soon & hoping to find one local if possible for a quick install.

I had to go through the dealer for my 02 recently; had to do with the programing. I tried some specialized auto-computer companies and they all told me for my make/model that I should go through the dealer. It ended up costing me around $1500

I got one from a local salvage yard for $200, BUT I would do a little more testing first

I checked voltage coming from the red LP harness wire & when my brother would hit the gas...voltage dropped to 5v. I checked the connection going into the ecm & all was well with plenty of lube on the plug. I then installed the ecm from my 99 into his truck for testing & it is running great. Of course this means that my truck is sitting in the driveway with no brain, but he needed his truck. It is his only transportation to attend my brothers funeral tomorrow. A friend from TDR is sending me a ecm out for $125. He is a great guy!

Don't chuck the dead one in the trash, I'd be interested in it for sure.
