well in my search for a local supplier for my clutch upgrade...i had a Pa. company call me and talk to me like i am an idiot.

he told me the 6 speed has a dual mass flywheel which is no good for an upgraded clutch so he has to sell me the kit that is double the price of what i asked him to locate for me. he says i need the kit with the new 13" flywheel to solve my problems...(i already have a 13") and when i tried to tell him he was wrong, he got defensive and said he we just trying to help me.

so anyway what im asking is...is there such thing as a dual mass flywheel on these cummins trucks??

 

Yeah there is, on the 2005 model, he is full of it. Any of the replacement clutches, SBC, LUK, etc. etc. will fit your stock flywheel. Maybe he has it confused with the Fjords, I'm pretty sure they are dual mass, at least the old 91 I had was.

he's not a very smart man.... Dual-Mass Flywheels are only on the 2005's equipped with the G56 transmission...

 

at least he was selling me the right clutch..but trying to add a flywheel to the deal
