Does DynaTrac make ball joints for 00-02?
Hey Guys!
First time to put a thread up on here besides the intro threads- but have been lurking some for the last year or two. I appreciate the forum and the good stuff that is found on here!
So to get down to business: I bought a set of XRF ball joints for my 01 and installed them the first week of this last may. I had decided on the XRFs after searching on here for quite awhile and deciding that for the price and the number of positive reviews they had, they were probably the best value. BOY WAS I WRONG! When I tore into the front end to do the front brakes in early august I already had a TON of slop in the upper joints! Almost all of the miles had been easy highway miles and there was no way that they should have been that bad. I couldn't replace them right away because I was in the middle of a move, but got some uppers ordered a couple of weeks ago and tore into it this weekend. Get in there, get it all torn apart, and come to find out the lowers are bad too! Million mile warranty they may have, but at this rate, I'll be replacing them every 3 months! It's not worth it to me!
Since I am NOT willing to replace my ball joints every three months, I started looking at other recommendations for ball joints on here. Two names keep popping up as the best- Carli and Dynatrac
Carli's seem to have good reviews with the exception of that first batch that went so wrong- but their $800 price tag really hurts in this day and age! On the other hand, The DynaTracs @ only around $600, are a little easier on the pocketbook and after searching here and online I have not found hardly any bad reviews on them.
First question: Do the 00-02 D60's take the same ball joints as the 03-on D60s? 03-on and 94-99 are the only BJs that I see listed for the above makers, and I know the 94-99 BJs are different.
(I searched but couldn't find a conclusive answer anywhere but possibly post #6 of this thread)
Second question: If they are the same bj's as the 03-on, any of you guys running either brand on your late 2nd gens, and if so, how happy are you with them, how many miles have you put on them, and would you recommend them. I would like some feedback that is more current if possible!
Thanks for your time!

Thanks for the info! I was only able to leave a msg for Dan- however, I was finally able to talk to one of their customer service reps, and he said that the 03-on ball joints do NOT fit. He also informed me that they do not make any at this time that do fit.

Synergy Suspension ball joints?
So since it's a no on Dynatracs and Carli's has anyone seen the Synergy ones? Here's a link to them: Synergy suspension.
Here's a link on Pirate 4X4 about them from Synergy suspension: Ball joints from synergy suspension
They seem to have the right idea going on... Metal to metal Like Carli's or Dynatrac's instead of the plastic like the rest... Supposed to be out... I'll try to call them tomorrow and find out for sure, and then I will post results here.
