diffs and transmission fluid
What gear oil is recommaned and how much do I need to change the diff fluid in both the front and rearends?
What about the manual transmission fluid?
I got 120,000 miles on my truck and I have never changed the fluids in the diffs or transmission.

Cattle Hauler, I just changed both differencial fluids last weekend, each used just under 4qts each. I used AMSOIL 80w-90. I have the automagic tranny so I can't help ya there....... ;D

Re:diffs and transmission fluid
Hey Cattle Hauler,
Go to Auto Zone and get some 85w140 from Valvoline about 3 quarts for the front and 4 for the back (get one extra for good measure).
Also if you have limited slip get some Trans X limited slip fluid (you add about half a bottle per Diff).

--Justin

Re:diffs and transmission fluid
CH,
I put almost 4 quarts of the Royal Purple Max Gear 75/140 syn, in the diff. No lsd additive. Thinking of goin to the RP Max Gear 75/90 in the NV4500. I have 66000 miles on the tranny and I'm thinking it's about time to change.

wk
