Diesel Fired Block Heaters
Howdy Everyone,
I just came across a company that makes a diesel fired block heater for the times when it is cold and can't plug into electricity. It looks like they make all sorts of heaters for all types of diesel equipment..both automotive and heavy construction haulers. The company is Espar out of Canada. I haven't heard anything about this product on the board so I thought I would ask if anyone has any experience or heard about them? Our local Ford dealer is putting them on their trucks as an option. About $1500 installed. New to me but looks good if you live in subzero tempertures. Also available for both 12 and 24 valve CTD. It looks like you can preset 3 different times a day to preheat and upto 7 days in advance. Any input would be appreciated. Just my $0.02 Ken
Check them out at http://www.espar.com/htm/applies/pickup.htm

I have an Espar hydronic water heater - they work incredibly well !!! They use top quality parts and are German engineered.
Some of the benefits:
- never have to start your truck cold
- never have to plug in
- never have to scrape windows again
- instant heat
- climbing into a warm truck is real nice if you live in a cold climate
If you operate a diesel in a cod climate, you MUST HAVE one of these babies.....
Check out Webasta heaters as well.....

Espar is the North American branch of the German company Eberspacher. The name Eberspacher is well-known to Volkswagen fans because they built the BN2 and BN4 gasoline fired air heater that was optional in 1960's and later air-cooled VW's.
