my VP lasted about 25k miles after LP replacement for past six months would get dead pedal, would be brief and always came back..I knew would happen and it did..when it happened the truck wouldnt start threw codes.in my case 1688 was kiss of death with two 1693 companion codes..I had hoped would get a code and poor running ie limp home.Instead I was towed in freezing weather.I would say if you are in maine maybe want to plan a replacement..btw I purchased my VP rev 027 from a local shop Lakes fuel injection in Bow NH at a cost of 1075.00 and was there next day when walked in with mine..the replacement is very straight forward and Diesel Dan has a how to video that should put you well at ease..it comes in 5 parts and after you watch whole job is a cake walk.I just did mine runs better than has in a year..wish had done it with LP..since yer in Maine if ya need a hand gimmie a holler.

Would a VP that is on it's way out (dead pedal issues) cause lack of performance?
I thought it was a lean miss and perhaps it was.
The friday before mine died,a friend from work with a 2004 dually challenged me to a tire smoke off and the truck let me down for once.
Thats my experience,I dont know about Yours, just keep the cell phone charged in case.
