Darn Cats!!
Cats like Cummins. Every morning before I start my truck I have to open the hood and chase away the stray cats. This morning I had 2 in there. The only thing I can think of is that they are getting warm from the block when it is plugged in. I sure hope they don’t get hungry and decide to chew on a hose or wiring.
So beware of the Cummins loving cats in your neighborhood.

One of my customers has a little GMC medium duty that they keep plugged in. Before the driver gets in the cab, he bangs on the fender a few times and 3 or 4 cats drop down and run off.
Never found one under my hood, but we don't feed the strays so they don't hang around the yard much.

I wound up a cat in my car one time. We had a farm cat and he jumped up in the engine bay to keep warm, but when I went to leave he got wound up the the belt. It cut off one of his paws but he was surprisingly cooperative while I freed him. I couldn't catch him to take him to the vet but after about a week he showed up again. He had a very strange limp after that but he was one tough customer!

Yep. A cash cropper friend of mine had a part time gig driving a school bus. He kept the bus in his farm yard and same thing the cats would crawl in there. Several times he started her up (7.3 International ) and heard a terrible noise. He always drove it back to the bus yard shop and said "gee guys, this thing is making a werid noise. Don't know what the heck the problem is"
I wouldn't want to be the one to pick out the unfortunate cat bits.
I have done my share or rabits and ground hogs in the conditioner rolls of the haybine.
