Tachometer/voltmeter/cruise control problems, check engine light, engine miss:
98-00 Crankshaft postion sensor bad
01-02 Camshaft position sensor bad

Problem:
The engine control module (ECM) on 30,000 of the listed vehicles may cause the engine speed to increase unexpectedly if an erroneous crank position sensor signal is received. To correct this condition, the ECM software must be updated (reflashed).

Ok, I'm not up to speed on my 12v, but I don't believe a bad crank sensor will cause a no start on your engine (assuming the 97 in your sig). The crank sensors main mission was to let the jtec controller know the engine was turning and thus turning the charging system on. No starts on the 12v usually end up being fuel shutoff solenoid/relay related. Anyone else????.....

Yeah, on a 12v it isnt as important because it is a mech engine. The 24v use them to determine engine position, which gives you your timming and everyhthing.
