Common Definitions list for the new guy (sorry)
This has got to be getting old i'm sure, it sure is over on the BMW board i frequent. How about a list of commonly used terms related to the Dodge and Cummins.
VP44?
Bombing?
Lift Pump?
NV4500? (which trucks got this, and which got the NV5600?)
What years got the HO 5.9?
What's the difference between the 2500 and 3500 suspension (besides the obvious rear axle)
Smarty?
I'll add more as i think of them, and so shoudl you guys. Maybe we could make this a sticky for the newbs like me

I take a stab at your questions.....
VP44? = Injection Pump
Bombing? = Modifications to your truck
Lift Pump? = The little fuel pump that pulls fuel from your tank and then supplys the VP44
NV4500? = 5 speed manual transmission
NV5600? = 6 speed manual transmission
What years got the HO 5.9? If I recall correctly '01 and '02, but you had to request the HO upon ordering.
What's the difference between the 2500 and 3500 suspension? (besides the obvious rear axle) I think that's it. The 2500 got D70's and the 3500 got D80's. Of course the duals too, but I can't think of anything else.

VP44 is the fuel injection pump, "bombing" is hopping up your motor, lift pump sends fuel to VP44, NV4500 is 5 speed tranny, 5600 is 6 speed, And did the HO only come with the 5600 tranny?

Smarty is the ultimate downloader for the 24 valve...
There are many different suspension options.... tow package, snow-plow prep, camper special...
The rear axles in manual transmission trucks are D80's, in auto's they are D70's.

BOMB-- better off modified, baby
..as coined by our own Scotty Pirsak about 8 years ago when people first started getting some nuts power out of these things.
Of course, back then 400hp was HUGE, and only a couple guys had it.
Now 500hp is a yawn.

I'm sold!
Thanks for correcting
Either my mind has altered in that time or the term did
First time I had seen the term was on TDR back in 2000 (before they "closed" down the site to outsiders) ... An interesting fact just the same.
