Clues that your LF is going or has gone
Just wondering what subtle clues you can pick up on that reveal your lp if gone or going. Don't have the time or money to install a fuel pressure gauge right now and chrysler wants about $120 CD to check it. Any input would be appreciated.

Might crank a little longer in the morning.
Sure sign is that it won't start after draining the filter cannister when replacing the fuel filter.
An inexpensive solution is to use a Brian Hopper fuel gauge. It's a temporary affair that attaches to the Schrader valve and has a hose long enough the place the gauge against the windshield. Thirty-some bucks if I remember correctly. Do a Google search to find a vendor.

Id say ya got to attach a fuel pressure gauge , at least a test one.
My truck ran great . Barely cranks and the motor fires right up. I put a Isspro fuel pressure gauge on the first month I had it and it only had 5 psi.
Went to cummins and bought a new lift pump , Now I read 14 psi and it doesnt go below 12 psi while driveing.
Just went on my first 3500 mi trip , I ran power service fuel additive for lube and the truck ran great the whole time, fuel pressure is still up.
I was worried that id have my VP44 injector pump die on my trip , but it ran great the hole time

With out the year I cant offer to much, but if its a early 24v get any 0-30 oil filled pressure gauge with a 1/4npt end on it and thread it in to one of the plugs on the filter canister. You can buy a gauge from Princess Auto in Langley for about $10 However this will only tell you the pressure at idle. Scrap your dealer $120 willl mount a gauge in the cab

DodgePodge,
If you dont have a guage or the time to mount one temp, just go WOT on a hill or other area that will put a lot of load on the engine. I found mine out that way, before I guaged mine, I stepped on it going up an on ramp to a freeway, and it just wouldnt go, I could feel her bog for a second or 2 until the fuel flow caught up. IMO I would take the 120 the dealer was to charge you and buy a good guage and never have to worry about it again.
