Sensors from different year engines might have smaller or larger hex sizes on them. Aftermarket parts might also be different.

My 2001.5 MAP sensor needed 1-1/4" deep socket, while the IAT was 13/16" as posted.

these are the sizes i used.

i did mine yesterday, been about a year or so with heavy fueling since last cleaning. IAT wasnt that dirty. truck felt like it ran better after wards though

I just cleaned the iat it took a 7/8 socket to get off. didn't fit well but the 13/16 would not clear the plastic.
I need a 1 1/4 deep for the map but it is at my shop so the map had to wait. I used contact cleaner. Nape
