Changed oil pressure sending unit
Just changed my oil pressure sending unit and it only cost me $196 for the unit and $97 worth of tools. Took all of about 4 1/2 minutes once I figured out how to do it the right way.
You will need a 1 1/4 deep well socket, about a 30 inch extension and a ratchet. Had my son lay under the truck and disconnect it from the bottom. He put the wrench on the unit and I pushed the extension through from the wheel well over top of the tire. There is an o-ring seal on it so it doesn't have to be real tight. Swapped them out, reconnected the wire and viola, you're done. Works like a champ. 8) ;D

The pressure switch had to be bought from Chrysler but it came in a Cummins box with a Cummins part number. Tell me that ain't a load of manure. ??? : ???

Actually on the tool part, I had to buy the 1 1/4 socket for about five bucks but I saw a 1/2 inch drive ratchet I liked so I bought that. Then I saw a 3/8 inch drive to match the half so I bought it too. Then I saw a standard set of stubby wrenches I liked so I bought them and then I saw the same set in metric to match so I bought them too. : :

And then I saw, ah, nevermind, you get the picture.

DD4X4

First time I changed my fuel filter I had to get the big socket for the cover.
It only came in a 1/2" drive so I had to get the wrench.
Figured since I had the wrench, I might as well be able to use all my 3/8" sockets, so I bought an adapter.
I had previous twisted or broke all my 3/8" extensions, so I got a set of 3 1/2" extensions.
Now I have to work on replacing all my 3/8" sockets with the nicer 1/2" sockets.
Now I've misplaced my 1/4" to 3/8" adaptor, what to do, what to do

I'm only posting this because maybe someone else will see it and save a few $$$.
I sure wish you had gone to a Cummins dealer...I paid about half that for mine.

Did anyone catch the Cummins P/N off the box?
Last I checked at local Cummins branch, the parts guy couldn't get a number. His book told him dealer only.
Yes, I know the 12v and 24v use a different sending unit. I'm just cataloging for future reference

I thought cummins discontinued the oil pressure sending unit that comes in the 24v from dodge. Cummins know carries a differant type and i think you know have to get a reflash on the pcm if you put that type in.
