HO came on the manual trasmission, SO on the automatic. Have the dealer print out the VIN number, service or parts can do it for you. Then you will have all the information.

HO came with most 6 speeds (not all, you could get a 6 speed SO, but not a HO without a 6 speed) SO is autos, 5 speeds, and a few 6 speeds.

The HO didn't come out until the 2001 model year, and all the 2001 and 2002 HOs used the NV5600 6 speed. Yours should be an SO rated at 235 BHP/460 lb-ft.

Early autos had the 215hp, 420 lb-ft.
All 5 speeds had 235hp, 460 lb-ft.
Early 6 speeds (99-00) had 235hp, 460 lb-ft.
Late 6 speeds (HO's) had 245hp, 505 lb-ft.

Check the data plate on the side of the timing case. It will tell you what engine you have.
