CAM Position Sensor Help
I get a code referencing my cam sensor. I have replaced the sensor and to no avail still get the code and the symptoms. It misses when it is acting up. Sometimes worse than others and sometimes it is really bad. I had already unhooked the Juice to seee if that was causing it but it doesnt appear to be.
The sensor looks to be some sort of magnetic sensor. Is there a tone ring it is sensing? Could it be messed up? If so anybody have any ideas on how to get to it.
The only other codes I get are ones that have been there for a long time like a couple years (grid heater circuit 2, lift pump voltage error which isnt hooked up)
Does anyone know what reads that sensor the pcm or the ecm?
I need to get this fixed and am having no luck so far so any help would be appreciated.

I can answer some of your questions.
The sensor is a Hall-effect sensor. It reads off the back of the pump drive gear in the timing case. There is no separate tone ring.
The signal is read by the ECM, not the PCM.

The other that can suggest is check the three wires for conitunity to ECM. Also check an see if have proper voltages on wires.
Next comes the famous VP44 failure mode. A classis indication although generally get other codes. Don't go overboard yet!
