Put a walbro 391 or 392 pump on it. It is an excellent pump at a very reasonable price you can get one for 100-120 here in the lower 48. It is a positive displacement gearoter type of pump made to run at a lot higher pressures then you will ever need so it will have a long and easy life feeding your vp-44 since it will not be working very hard. Just be sure to use a pre- filter to protect it and mount it on the frame in front of your tank you won't even hear it running. If you do a search on here you will find all the hook up info you need or just ask for some help.

Jentas, I agree with your opinion of Airtex. I lost my first one, cold *** day, windy, had to change on side of road to my old carter just to get home. Dealer was glad to send me another new one. said I needed to install a pre filter!! I have 90 gal bed mounted aux tank, with Wix fuel/water sep between it and OEM tank, then line to airtex. Wix is 12 micron, spin on filter. If that isn
't a prefilter, then what is??

This is probably beat to death..but is there a non electric L.P. available ? ....It would seem that a mechanical variety would EZ keep up with the needs of the VP.

Sure there is, but you'll need a cam with a pump lobe to run it.

Put an Airdog on with a lifetime warranty and forget about it. The lifespan rating on the motor is longer than the truck will live. You can buy replacement filters for it from Fleetguard. I'm running a 2 micron on mine.

I put on a Raptor 100 earlier this year and have been perfectly happy with it. Installation was pretty easy and took one afternoon. No problems whatsoever. The Raptor uses the same type of pump as the FASS and Airdog, only difference is you retain the factory fuel filter.

The Raptor is definitely a quicker and easier install. With the Airdog, you will need to route a return line to the tank (ie - fuel line from the tank to the Airdog, then a return line to the tank which usually is plumbed into the fill line). With the Raptor, there is no return line. You simply run a line from the tank to the Raptor which is installed on the frame rail, then to the existing fuel filter assembly on the side of the engine. Took me no more than 3 hours and I went slowly and methodically. I'm sure it could be done in less time.
