On Saturday I bought this 2001 2500 Extra Cab Automatic 4x4: http://sacramento.craigslist.org/pts/141110295.html

It has 97K miles. The frame is bent under the cab. The engine/trans/transfer case are undamaged.

It will not start. Makes no noise when the key is turned but the batteries are charged. Is there some sort of inertia switch that may have been triggered by the impact?

I found out why it would not start. The shifting linkage had come adrift. I disconnected it, shifted it into park and it fired right up. Sounds niiiice, too.

Unless you already have parts and are a body man 6,500 is a lot to pay in my opinion. That truck took a good side hit.
