Boost Gauge Question

So I just got a 2nd gen and it has a boost gauge that is tapped into the Intake Arc (sorry dont know the technical term) and the gauge is reading what seems to be very low. (max is 24lbs) would this being tapped into there give it different readings because I've never tapped into that for a boost reading, on my buddy's 24v we used the Diesel Manor boost bolt. Also the turbo is SUPER laggy, I'm thinking turbo but hoping maybe I'm just used to a stick and the way it spools because thats what the last truck was. But it also seems like this truck is a dog, but then again I dont know what to compare to because I've never owned a 2nd gen. With whats in my sig shouldn't the truck run respectable??? Any input would be a great help. Thanks

Unless you've modified the waste gate, 24 psi sounds about right. I tapped my boost gauge into the intake above the heaters and can get 32+ psi with the Edge boost fooler and restricted waste gate elbow.
I don't think you can use the restricted elbow on an automatic and may have to go to a J-hook to keep the waste gate closed.
