Block Number
So, I'm still kinda new to the CTD world... I read posts here every once in awhile that refer to the notorious cracked block #53. How do I tell what block I have in my '99? What blocks were bad and which ones are good?

As I've heard, 53's are the only 'bad' ones. Usually right above the oil pan at the front of the engine. Usually on the drivers side, but sometimes show up on the passenger side. If there are no big numbers, just small ones, its a mexican block, generally regarded as the thickest, and least likely to crack.
