Diesel- Dummy

Is there any diff from the black vps and the silver ones ? I have herd the black pumps might not be as good .

Looks like no one is willing to stick neck out these days, so here goes.
The general indication is these are questionable investments. They may be a used housing and painted to hide disfiguring of aluminum. They may be pumps that did not need sleeving of high pressure pump or qualify for new housing, which I believe is case with virtually all remans. the one I find most believable is thay come from the far east and may questionable in quality of building and test equipment or parts source of parts other than Bosch.
Without a believable explination from a authorized reseller, I would stay away from them. What is their warranty and from who????

I installed a reman VP44 a couple of months ago; it was painted black. I bought the pump from M&D Distributors, Houston, Texas. M&D is the Bosch diesel central distributor. They also have their own VP44 remanufacturing facility in Houston. I believe that the pumps from Blue Chip Diesel are also painted black. In my opinion, the pumps from these two sources are top of the line.
