BHAF and smoke

BHAF and smoke
Just curious here. When I floor my truck it blows more smoke than it used too. It would barely blow smoke when the BHAF was new. Now that the filter has some miles on it, 16,000+, i was wondering if it is due for replacement. My reasoning is this. When I floor it now the Filter can't pass enough air through it to supply a WOT load which means less air in the cylinder for a given fuel amount and the result is a little more smoke that usual. Is my reasoning good?
BTW when I say more smoke than usual I can leave a decent cloud if I take off from a standstill in daylight.

It is entirely plausible for a dirty filter to cause the smoke... less air to burn, more smoke out the pipe. One way to test would be to put the stock airbox back on and take her for a spin.
I have a prefilter that I clean periodically so that has kept my BHAF from really getting dirty.
