Better Braking - 3rd Gen Rotors/Calipers
Read about this on a different web site! Have seen nothing on this subject on the DTR?
Anyone done it.... or know anything about it?
Poster claims 25% better braking with 3rd Gen front rotors and calipers!
Requires 17" wheels also. Already got those so I was kind of interested in learning more!

X2 - others have done it with success... it's a mildly tempting BOMB, but I'd rather swap the drums for rotors on my '98 (you're lucky Dodge did that for you at the factory! )
Worth it?
Could be - I know the main thing that sold me on the '05 during the test-drive was how violently it "panic-stopped".

yep, I've done the upgrade and with good quality pads my truck just plain STOPS where before it just slowed down and had serious brake fade after a couple hard applications. I used to eat thru pads every 3-4months and the max distance I ever got out of the pads was 23,000kms!! I'm over 30,000kms now and the pads are only 1/4 worn!! thats a huge improvement (BTW they are cheap cermac pads), I also have the GM rear wheel cyls and a longer prop rod. I have to keep after the rear adjustment every 2months or so as well
all ya need is the caliper brackets/rotors/pads/ and 17rims, I believe the 00 and up already have the dual piston calipers, so if you do there is really no need to replace them

Just some info, I'll keep my rear drum brakes, The rear disc on my brothers truck suck. 65% of the stopping power comes from the front anyway and this upgrade increases the front stopping power by 33%. The improvement of rear disc brakes doesn't really come into play until you are heavily loaded and the problem with them is that the parking brake sucks my brothers truck is a stick and if I have a load in it, the parking brake will not hold. I can lock up all four wheels with a ten thousand pound trailer in tow with heavy 19.5 wheels and tires.

I wish I was as fine, as those who work the pipeline!
