What is the best or easiest way to get my truck to betch smoke puttin stacks on soon and would like to get more smoke.(beside restricting the air filter)[nonono]

 

You can always unplug the map sensor...but i was told to only do that with edge ez or comp but other people said you can do it with out them.

 

I tried that and not only did it throw a code it didn't have any power at all...

 

It worked on my buddies and gave him a little more power ,but he has the edge ez....Other than that i would say break down and buy some injectors

 

just pull the intake hose off. ha ha

 

Well the best way to get her to blow black is bigger injectors I put the stage 4's and I can turn off all the programmers and still get her to beltch black smoke. You can get the tips for a good price (around $200 for mine) and if you want get them pop tested. I didn't but that's just me and I don't have any of the negative that they say can happen to you. JMO though.

 

Thanks Night Rider, I beleive I will just have to come up with the dough...I am thinking of running the overhead this spring so probably try to do it then...you know anything about unplugging the map...

 

i unplugged the map on mine, But agian (edge) and it did a CRAP loud of black smoke. about as much if not more than 100hp injectors would get ya.

 

dont build to get smoke build for power, and the smoke will flow, injectors, large boxes.

 

Yes it will get you more smoke if you have the edge but no added power. If you don't have an edge might want to invest in injectors and a pyro gauge, that will give you the smoke and extra power. Get a pyro guage though or you will fry your turbo. I know where you can get the pyro for around $50 or so.

 

I have a Superchips programmer and if it is set on the stock setting, it doesn't smoke, but if I set on any of the 3 performance settings, it blows a sh**load of black smoke. It blows more smoke as I increase the settings. That's a lot cheaper than new injectors.

 

Why do you want to get more smoke ? I don't understand the philosophy ?

 

I had a superchips and i could never get mine to smoke. Just a little puff from a dead stop and my lift pump pressures was fine.

 

Could always throw 10 gallons of gas on the motor, light and walk away.

I try to get my truck NOT to smoke!
