It just gave me the excuse I was looking for to upgrade it to the way Dodge should have designed it from the factory.

Thanks for the feedback got the truck back yesterday got a gallon of power service will be adding it every fillup, Again nice to have Roxanne back on the road. I have almost recovered from the trauma of being towed to the shop by a ford ranger,( the ranger knew it had a hold of something big) Thanks again.

Ive been running Schaeffers, but thats just what Ive got so thats what I run. Will probably try John Deere next time I buy a bunch, just cause they are close to the house. Ive found the easiest way for me to 'measure' the correct amount has been those wee little sthil 2 cycle oil bottles. If im putting in more that 20 gals... then its the whole bottle, for about half a tank, bout half the bottle. Can fill the little bottle back up waiting for the truck to fill.

Schaeffers salesman came by last week a gave a demonstration where he put equal amounts of Power Service and their additive in separate test tubes, added a drop of acid to mimic the acidity of diesel fuel then lit it on fire. The test tube with Power Service was covered with black soot and flaky deposits, the Schaeffer's tube was totally clean. It was my jug of Power Service he used, no tricks going on here, he said he could do the same test with any diesel additive and only the Schaeffer's would burn clean.

I use Biodiesel to address exactly this... lubrication. It is more expensive, has less energy per gallon overall, but is much better at lubrication. The other side benefit is consuming a product made in the USA. I mix half a tank of B20 with regular pump diesel. Honestly... it is hard to tell a diifference in power or sound. Mileage too.
I still carry some Stanadyne with me, but haven't used it yet this winter. Only use it for lubrication mainly and have been lucky enough to have B20 in town. On trips, I'll probably throw some in to help with lubrication.
I have read the lubrication qualities of standard pump diesel will continue to get worse and worse over the next year or two so I suspect I'll be running Bio or an additive from this point forward.

I am jealous of all you guys that have B20 or B100 available. If it was available near me, I'd use it all the time!
I ran Power Service for a while, but gave up on them upon reading that Power service is mostly #2 diesel. I already have that! I'm convinced that PS is NOT the best-- just the most easily available. It seems like it's everywhere!
I've read good things about stanadyne blue and red.
Lately, I've been running Redline Oil's 85 Plus diesel additive. This stuff rocks! Less smoke, better mpg, and great lubricity-- and it burns clean, too.
I'm almost done with this case of Redline, and I'm about to reorder. CortiSlim says that reordering means that you're happy with the product.
