BEst and chepest place for a VP44

Well the day is upon me. I am looking fora descent place to get a VP44 from. Also, this ahs to be pretty cheap in the grand scheme of things... I have to replace both batteries, the tranny, injection pump and front end componenets. As you can imagine, I can't afford to just buy one, I have to be a cheap buyer....hahhahha

Where should I get one, and are they difficult to replace? Is there a place online where I can find directions on how to replace this?

Thanks
dIma

DK Diesel Watertown, SD. R+R remaned bosch VP44 -- Grand Total $1175.

Took them less than 3 hours, very good people to work with. I had called both Cummins, and my dealership.....and neither could even get close to DK's price.

Good Luck.

I found out they offerd that pump right after I replaced mine
Maybe you could ask them if those are dyno#'s there advertising.

I still wish I would have bought one, same warranty as the reman or new.

I got my HRVP44 from Doug at Advanced Diesel Technologies. I believe Industrial Injection makes most of the HRVPs out there.

I replaced mine myself in June. Im just a DIY backyard mechanic and it was not too bad if your careful can follow instructions to the letter, and don't mind getting all greasy!

I searched the internet for the best price I could find, and found a place called "Edwards Equipment" in Granbury TX, that sells certified Bosh rebuilt pumps for $975 + $21 shipping to my work address here in California.(Plus a $400 core charge which was refunded) When I bought mine in June 2005, they did not have much of a web site, and you had to order by telephone.(817) 573-7755. They were out of the lift pumps, so I got that at the Cummins dealer for $160.

After replacing it, the truck starts and runs great! It's only been 5 months but no problems at all.
