Before I buy a VP44...
Hey guys,
I've had trouble recently with my pickup starting in cold weather... well, I fear it's worse than that now. Forgot to plug it in when I got to work (walked inside first with arms full and got real busy quick...) then plugged in at lunch but wouldn't fire up at end of shift. I've got fuel pressure at the output of the LP (enough to squirt a guy in the eye...) and changed the filter (it was time, plus it's COLD and I wanted to eliminate the problem of hardened wax? Now I crack open several high pressure lines to possibly bleed air and I don't get anything! I barrowed a scanner and don't get any codes- but still am afraid I'm adding myself to the VP list (123K mi). Any eleventh hour ideas would be appreciated. I'll check this post again at the end of the day.
Thanks guys,
-Blaine

wow... just had an air lock! sure didn't think it was that. i guess i need to firure out how to better bleed the system- the shop bled it out right away and it started up fine, but they think there's an air leak somewhere...

I had airlock twice, but from letting off the throttle too fast, died on me and had to bleed to get it to go again. How do you bleed, which lines? Then just bump the starter?

We had just replaced the VP (was dead) and filter and were trying to bleed the system with no luck. Couldn't get anything to the inj lines. We opened the drain on the filter housing while the pump was running and it pressurized the system. I guess it kind of bleeds the air off. Whatever, it worked.
