That must be why mine are doing good (knock on wood!).

When I had my valves out each valve seal still gave quite a bit of resistance to each valve when re-installing.

Why do you need stem seals on the exhaust valves? The high exhaust pressure will blow them off anyway and lack of oil will wear the guides faster.
