Bad Injection Pump
Well my injection pump went south. Dodge wont warranty because of box codes. Well they want $3,167.20
for a pump. Well I called WTTD our new vendor/sponsor and talked with Chace Aldridge. Well before talking
to him I wanted to explode. Now he has made me much happier. So thanks to WTTD and their customer service department.

Re:Bad Injection Pump
Sorry to hear about your pump problems there, I hope you are able to get it back on the road without TOO much pain in the wallet.
I sure do like these fuel injected diesels, but it is tough when the pump goes down. I feel for you!

Re:Bad Injection Pump
Thanks TOP. Well It wont hurt to bad. Better through performance shops than dealer or cummins.
They say the TST and the Edge blew the pump up. Anybody else had this happen?

Plenty people have lost injection pumps with boxes, and without boxes. When there is a box present the dealer & Cummins will always say it is the fault of the box for the failure.
Are you getting a new pump or reman?

Thanks ED. I am beginning to understand them a little more. What about the HO pumps. What type of service are those
drivers seeing? Is the HO a good pump? Is it worth a few extra bucks?

Re:Bad Injection Pump
To the Blue Chip article, I'd just add that Bosch has said that the VP44 was designed for diesel fuels that meet European lubrication specs, which are higher than low-sulfur American diesel fuels. Scouring and runout tests by Bosch, Shell, and Stanadyne indicate that American fuels are very hard on injection pumps, especially rotary ones. Unfortunately, no lubrication standard presently exists for fuel additives, but I use PowerService, Shell Rotella DFA, or Stanadyne, depending on what I can get, in every tank.
