Axle leaking oil

my drivers side axle is leaking out oil. how hard is it to replace the seal myself? and does anybody have any links to a good writeup?

I am not sure how to do it put if I am right I think that you have to take out your gears for that is.

front axle...i'm figuring i need to take out the driver side axle. if i take out the diff, can i just shove it back in afterwards without needing to adjust anything?

You need a special "spreader" to gain enough clearance to remove the diff from the housing. Everything else is pretty straight forward.

Front axle seals should be swapped on both sides.
You will need to remove the differential. When I did mine I could pull it out by hand. The manual says that you may need a spreader.
