Has anyone every swapped the 6sp (or a 5 sp for that matter) for an automatic? I'm thinking ahead if my auto blows, I'd love to have the stick again...does the manual tranny directly replace the auto, or would an adapter plate have to be made? I'd have to swap the pedal assembly and steering column too...

I asked the same question to a mechanic friend of mine. He told me I would me better off to buy a DTT or ATS transmission unless I REALLY wanted a stick.

ya, I guess the DTT tranny would be stronger than the stock manual (5 or 6 sp) too, and less hassle...
