Amsoil switch=No more blow-by!

Just switched from Mobil Delvac1 5w-40 synthetic to Amsoil synthetic & noticed that I now have NO blow-by oil coming out of the puke tube.....This is even after a hard run, where before with the Delvac, I would often have a couple of drops! Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining, but I have a hard time believing that the switch to Amsoil 15w-40 HDD is doing it. Anyone wanna comment on this interesting phenomenon? I thought as engines get older, you get MORE oil puking out of the tube, not less...

FWIW, I have 93,000mi on the engine, 23K of which have been heavily bombed....

thats because of viscocity not amzoil, even if you used 15W40 penzoil it would have less blow by than 5w30 amzoil or mobil 1 or whatever.

I typically go through maybe a half a quart between oil changes, and most of that is lubing the dront differential exterior.... (Through the draft tube) Delo 15-40, 78,000 miles and 45,000 bombed.

C'mon, Steve, enough w/the Amsoil hype.

I'd never use that stuff

Least your change was cleaner than my neighbor w/the F**d. Took a bag or two of absorbent to clean the floor after he dropped, and then threw the filter into the drain pan. Splash! 'Course, he still uses F--M products on occasion , along with C*****l. To each their own.

He brings refreshments to fill the fridge, so we let him come around. The entertainment is almost as good as finding someone in the bathtub

I have switched from Castrol GTX to Valvoline Premium Blue- very good move. Less oil consumption- about a quart on 6000 miles before, now virtually nothing, less rattling and knocking when cold.
And a whole lot cheaper!

AlpineRAM
