AirDog FP-100 install placement?

well i finally got tired of moving the FP-100 out of the way all the time and got around to putting it in.for those that have installed them in a 4+4 were did you mount it.if i mount this one were they recommend it sits awful close to the drive shaft,maybe a 1/4" away from the fuel line.my other option is to put it on the out side of the frame in the rear box tire well.if those who have installed them could let me know were they put theres would be great.

I put mine on the drivers side frame rail, right behind the transfer case. That way it's protected a little by the transfer case and the skid plate. Seems like the best location to me, wouldn't want it just hanging out with no protection from road debris...etc.
Yes, one fuel line is quite close to drive shaft.

You are very,very limited on space when installing on a sort box. I finally placed mine on the outside of the frame. Not where I wanted to put it but?? I called Pureflow and asked if they have complaints from people with short boxes not having adequate room for install with the original included bracket. They said they have customers call from time to time, they sent me a different mounting bracket that will work on the inside of the frame...you just pay for shipping! Good luck

i think if i take a fuel line mounting bolt out i can slide the FP mounting plate back towards the fuel tank far enough and that will at least get the FP fuel line away from the yoke of the drive shaft.otherwise its going on the outside of the frame rail in the drivers side wheel well.

On my 99 I had it right behind the transfer case, but on the 01 there wasn't as much room. I ended up welding extensions onto the mounting brackets in order to mount the pump along the outside of the frame rail. The regular mounting plates wouldn't allow the pump to be lowered enough to clear the underside of the body. I still need to make up a skid plate of some sort though.

To be honest I can't exactly remember, but I believe the cross beam you see to the right of the picture was going to be in the way of the pump/filters. I didn't think there was going to be enough room between the Transfer Case and that beam.

I'll take another look tomorrow while I'm installing the skid plate I made for the pump, see if it would be possible to put it on the inside of the frame on a QC SB.

It all depends if your truck is an HO or not. If your truck has a 6 speed in it then there is not enough room to install it inside the fram rail. There is a different bracket you use to install on the outside of the rail. My truck is a 6 speed and I had to go on the outside of the rail.

Yea, looked at mine this morning...def no room with a short box,LOL. I didn't realize you had the long box, sorry about that! You should be good to go with a long box. This is where I had it on my 99 Cab and Chassis, which will probably be about the same for yours;
