Was there a specific code to pinpoint your old ECM as having a problem, or have you ruled out everything else? If it is in need of replacing check around with a few of your local auto recyclers, as price can vary from one to another. I know when I got my CATCHER ECM, they were very specific on year, model, options etc, to properly match up without any issues popping up.
If you do need to buy a used ECM, try and get it the same model year, with one from an auto or stick, whatever you have match it up as closely as you can. Ask them if it doesn't work exactly, if you can return it-no charge. If it is a California unit, it will be different because of emissions regulations.
