4wd/cruise do not work-have vacuum

I replaced some of the rubber hose. Still need to replace the 1/8" ID at the T. Checked at the shift motor on the front axle and the red hose had vac in 2wd; black hose had vac when t-case was in 4wd. I put t-case in 4wd and made tight turns in a parking lot to make sure the light wasnt working or something and there was no binding or any other sign of the four wheel drive being engaged.

Is there a way to check the shift motor on the front axle?

As far as the cruise goes...None of the lights for the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel work. Is there a fuse or something? I did not see one. Is there a way to test the cruise control system by itself?

Thanks

If you dont use 4WD often your shift motor may be seized. I had same problem. I replace the vacuum unit with a 4x4Posi-Lock a cable actuated unit. Positive 4WD. As to your other problem it sounds like the clockspring inside the steering column. These trucks were very susceptible to that part failure, so much so that Chrysler issued a recall on the clockspring on some year trucks. I dont know what years except 2001. Frank
