47RE downshifts then upshifts with A/C on

Anybody seen this? This is not when the blower alone is on, but when the A/C is on in either MAX A/C or other mode. It also seems to occur more when it's hot outside than say on the same day, but in the cooler evening. I'm not certain whether it's actually downshifting or just losing then regaining tranny lock, but it's definitely raising a few hundred RPM, then dropping back again.

Ideas?

Thanks!

Ev

Bad battery or ground connections, causing a spike or drop in voltage when the AC compressor clutch engages/disengages.

Possibly bad batteries. (improbable if you don't have starting problems)

First step, clean and check all ground splices and attachments to the engine and the body.

That problem is fairly common. There's a million different reason's why your tranny will "hunt" for the right gear,...But in the end, they all lead to the same place. Bad grounding, little or no shielding, and not such a good design on dodge's part. If you reset your APPS the problem usually goes away for a while,.. (for me sometimes it will go away for a year,..other times,,..just a few weeks).
