47RE 2-3 Tie Up (Overlap)

I just installed a Transgo kit in my 99, adjusted bands, new fluid and filter and now have a subtle tie up on 2-3 shift. It feels as if you touched the brake slightly just when the shift is taking place. I messed with the TV cable and tried some different band adjustments and they really didnt make much difference. It seems to be present at all throttle openeings. More pronounced of course at full throttle. Any ideas?

Not to uncommon with those kits.

The old Fairbanks 727 kits had an orifice that you drive into the direct clutch port in the case. I believe its function was to slow the flow of oil to the clutch to ensure that the intermediate servo had enough time to disengage (relax the band) during the 2-3 shift. Any comments on this? Anyone ever messed with it?

Remove Your Second Gear Band Servo Piston, Disassemble The Piston There Will Be The Plunger A Spring An Da Washer, Remove The Spring And Replace With An Aluminum Spacer Available From Most Transmissionn Parts Suppliers, Remove The Orange Oring From The Plunger And Leave It Off, There Is A Small Bleed Hole In The Piston With The Oring Removed This Will Prefill The Third Gear Circuit And Speed Up The 2-3 Shift By About 30% And Greatly Shorten The Bind Up Period.

Ok I looked at it last night. Good write up, I think I see exactly what you mean. Wouldn't this reduce the apply force on the intermediate band?
