my top speed is around 60 when it's off.

and if i mash it off the line it seems to lose acceleration at edd of 1st then shift but only when stomped shifts clean other wise???

stock and faster than a buddy's with 5'' pipe jet program running 355's hole shots and from 40mph what gives is it the gears

...thats really hard to read. With OD off and 4.10 gears yes, I imagine you are all done at 60 mph. What year of truck, tire size, etc...I know when my 01 had 4.10's I basically had to pull grades at 45-50 (with the trailer) with the od off because the rpms would be at 2200.

I don't know what tires you're running, so I plugged my tires into my table (265/70R-17's that are 31.6" in diameter) and ....

.... some quick math says that in direct drive (1:1 & locked torque converter eg. no slipping) @ 3200 rpm you'll be doing around 73mph.

If the TC is slipping, you could indeed be running in the 60's.
