4 low

I think I read somewhere but can't seem to locate it again, that there is a gaget that can be installed too keep the differentail from going too 4 wheel when you shift the transfer case too 4 low . So you can have the advantage of the low range off road when 4x4 is not needed ? Is there such a device or am I mistaken ? Sure wold be handy especially with a automatic .

If you have a CAD front axle you can rig up a vacuum solinoid and switch to keep tha front axle from engaging. Real simple to do. That way you will have 4 low and the front wont be applied.

I ran one of these on my old Chevy. This is how all 4X4 systems should operate.
