Your temps are within reason because you have eliminated the constriction up over the rear axle and shortened and split the system. Sounds like you probably have removed the resonator also.

In reality the exit hole of the turbo is only around 2.5" in diameter so from a real world perspective you only need a 2.5 inch exhaust of proper length, without any backpressure to be alright. You can't get 4" of exhaust out of a 2.5 inch hole any faster. Its a question of length of pipe to free air and constriction.

Plus, a 4" tip looks cooler than a 3" hands down!
