The only thing it will probable do is help keep your EGT`s down, but it will not boost your mileage to the point of paying for the new exhaust system, if that is what your asking.

I can attest to the lower EGT's after just recently hauling our 11,000lb fifth wheel over the Rockies through the Rodgers pass. I was very concerned about the possibility of high EGT's as I would, in theory, be working the truck very hard as we are at max GCVW, maybe even over by a few pounds. It was an awesome good pull, kept it out of overdrive for anything remotely close to a hill and the EGT's rarely eclipsed 1,000F. I can't really say that I noticed any increase in power as that wasn't my objective in installing the MBRP exhaust. I think that only a certified dyno run could validate that aspect of the install.

The 4" exhaust will reduce your chances of roasting a piston or the turbocharger if driven sanely.
The biggest constriction in my truck was the exit out of the muffler where the pipe went up over the rear axle, only 2 1/4"!!.
A quality aftermarket exhaust will be mandrel bent with a true 4" diameter from turbo neck to tip.
An EGT gauge should accompany it so you can keep an eye on temps.
As far as adding power goes, no, its just a piece of the equation towards heading in that direction. If you want more power you need to add fuel.

Hey quick question on the 4" exhaust. How much louder will it make my truck? I like the sound, it just gets annoying when driving all day if the exhaust is stupid loud!

How loud it is really depends on the muffler and personal taste. My mrbp system was not too bad inside the truck. But I did not want to be too obnoxious to the neighbors, so I installed a Donaldson muffler. Quiet inside, quiet outside but it still sounds good.

I have the MBRP straight thru muffler and it is louder but doesn't drone too bad at highway speeds.

I have the MBRP flow through muffler. Initially I thought it was too loud and started looking for a Donaldson. Then, after a couple of weeks, I started to like the sound of the MBRP so I kept it as installed. Not loud in the cab at all.

^^what he said. You will want to look for a TBE kit. That's Turbo Back Exhaust.
Soak the two flange bolts in Kroil or pb blaster etc the day before you work on it. 3 feet of extensions and you can have at it from below, its a little easier. Cutting the old system out with a sawzall got me finished in 45 minutes.
Hang it in place, but don't tighten it all down til you get the tailpipe where you want it!!

My truck weighs 11,000lbs, has a stock 3" exhaust that duals out about midway of the bed. I have a quadzilla on there as well. I pull a 16' trailer with all sorts of loads and egt's are not bad at all. As long as I'm not trying to pull a hill like I'm in a Bugatti. I can pull a hill quick and keep the temps below 1200 without a problem. I've looked at 4" and 5" duals but for me, spending the money to fix something that ain't broke just don't work.
