3cylinder high idle???
#16
My connection to my IAT sensor is fubar'd and the 3 cylinder high idle comes on all the time until coolant temp warms up.
However, that also sets a code and the check engine light comes on, so if that's Joe Diesel's issue it should be immediately apparent.

Can you make the 3 cylinder work at 25* instead of 0*? I got the high idle installed with my buddies smarty. The high idle came on at 25*. I wish the 3 cylinder would work at that temp. Or maybe there is a reason it waits till 0*. I know the truck didnt warm up with just the high idle at 25*. Maybe its just a dumb question. I'm sure someone will educate me.. Thanks!

it hasn't been cold enough here to see if the 3 cyl will kick in or not, but it has been cold enough that the dealer high idle has kicked in.
the quadzilla high idle on the tune i am running waits for a set amount of time before it ramps the rpm up. so, if the key is in the 'on' position for an extended period of time while the 'wait to start' light goes out - that amount of time counts towards it's wait time, so once the truck starts, the quad box automatically takes over strictly because it has surpassed the set time it is supposed to wait. if you turn the key backwards out of the 'on' position, the time restarts.
the 3 cyl mode kicks in after the cummins high idle has already ramped up. if you can get the cummins high idle to engage, then if it is cold enough the 3 cyl mode will also engage.
makes sense in my head, but not sure how it will translate to everyone else . . .
