2nd Gear going south..I think
I think 2nd gear is slipping,my fluid is all new all DTT stuff in the tranny,I tryed to duplicate it today but I couldnot.
what are the chances the tranny could lose just 2nd gear,I have no shudder,it seemed to brake loose yesterday a couple of times, but from a dead stop I cannot get it to do it now,it shifts hard and ferm.Is there something I could do to make sure it isn't the tranny?
I just hit 100,000 miles on it and had the DTT stuff in there since around 60,000,I use Amsoil since the first oil change. But it is clean and smells good.
Any ideas would be appreciated..Thanks

Sorry to keep you guys waiting.
Well this weekend we changed the fluid and filter,I had a guy from the local trans shop come over and he adjusted the bands, well after all that it still did it,but the good news is it isnt the transmission,it is a censor, not sure which one yet,I will find out tonight, but it made it feel like it was slipping in 2nd gear,I had everybody I know drive the thing and they all thought the same thing.
But if you shift it by hand from low 1 it shifts hard and furm.
And it is throughing a code of some kind.
I remember when I first got this truck it did that, but I cannot remember I think it was the crank sensor, but not sure I will have to go through my paper work to find it..
I will keep you posted

Re:2nd Gear going south..I think
Problem solved.
Believe it or not it was my Van Aakens box going hay wire.
After we changed the Crank sensor, and the throttle possitioning switch it was still doing it,so I had heard something a while ago about Van Aakens causing this, well I disconnected it and it went away, but I wasnt for sure it was the problem,so I put the one from my uncles Dodge on mine and mine on his and the problem became his problem,it did the exact thing to his truck, and his box on my truck went completely away.anyway after closer inspection of my box there was some chaffing on one wire, but it didn't look that bad but it must have been, maybe the exposed wire was arching on a piece of metal. But anyway I cleaned all the connections and re greased them and now it works fine,so all this trouble with crank sensors and other things was for not.
I don't know how it made it feel like a miss shift but it did.
But I am glad to know my DTT tranny is still going strong
