24v Won't start after having pump off

Put a used motor in my truck, replacing the one with 530,000 on it. Swapped the injector setup from the old motor to the new one. After spending hours bleeding everything what I have is a motor that won't start, throws the P0341 code, has fuel at each injector with only #3 and #6 putting out enough volume to think about running. There is fuel coming out all the injectors, not the foamy stuff when I first started. I put on a new FASS DDRP 2.0 lift pump on and bled that out. Ran the lift pump and bled the overflow until there was no air coming out and then that has led me to where I am at now. I'm out of ideas and could use some fresh perspective on what to try next to get this thing running. The old motor still ran when I replaced it, the head went south and was a 53 block so I thought it was as good a time as any to at least upgrade the block with a Mexican casting. Motor has about 180,000 on it and shows to be in decent shape. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Depending on the year of the engine, it could be the cam positioning sensor. But just for sake of ruling out the VP, check out this diagnostic page and reference about half way down the page where it say's "no start". Might help you out. VP44 Diagnostic

Ok, this is one for the books for those of you swapping 24v motors. If you are going from 98 to 2000 you are fine, if you are going from 98-2000 to 2001 or 2002 you need to put the camshaft sensor ring from the newer motor on the older motor or you will get a P0341 and it will not run period. They are different. In 2001 they changed from using a crank sensor and a cam sensor to just a cam sensor. So it does double duty with engine speed and cam position. (slaps hand on forehead) So guess what I'm going to be doing on Easter Sunday? Going to take off the front end of the truck again and prepare for the swap. Fortunately there is lots of info on the net that tells you how to do it with the motor still in the truck.

Hey Sarge, fill out your sig so we know what you have.

That 98-02 mess is usually the culprit and a lot of guys know the issues when crossing them up.

Glad you got it figured out and welcome to the site!!
