24V industrial engines? Lift pump?

Is there such a thing as a 24V industrial, like a Gen set or water pump, or are they 12V? If there is 24V what do they use for a lift pump? Do they have a VP-44? And/or what do bigger medium duty trucks use?
Thanks

6cylinders I wish someone would answer. I would like to know also. That's an interesting question you posed.

As I recall, every industrial Cummins I've seen is a 12 valve with a mechanical pump. (Less stuff to install, and less stuff to go wrong at the worst possible second)

The only industrial 5.9 cummins I have been around was run with natural gas. It ran an irrigation pump.

they have 24 valve industrial engines, I bought one and installed it. Worked well when changed over to vehicle use, but it was a 53 block and cracked right away. This came from a gen set. Cam timing has better torque, near what the commercial engine has.

Lift pump was the same, exhaust completely different, injectors were tiny, I used my vp44, don't know about the original but it was a vp44.

Best engine to use for pulling weight, commercial unit from a bigger truck, school bus, etc. They are limited by the vp44 to 2500 rpm so have a low hp rating but high torque. I have an RV275 in the Dodge, not just the injectors, the whole engine. Real strong. Rated at 275 with 2500 rpm is quite high in comparison to a dodge engine based on 3300 rpm.

Same as Haulin_in_Dixie ,, I too bought one, ISB 185, Out of a 35 pass airport bus That burned,Engine was 55 block (heehaww) 8525 Miles on it,,,, Same lift pump,, Different VP-44 For Mid range app, redline @ 2500 Rpm cause of VP. And small injectors,, I changed injectors and put my Vp-44 on it, Runs GREAT I now have about 30000 miles on it AND I'm 53 FREE!!!!!!

I have one i am parting out. It is in a Bearing MD 26. That is a 26000 gvw straight truck. Rated at 215 HP has the same HX35w but has a band type downpipe clamp. The guys at cummins up here said the vps on them were the same as the pickups (wanted a spare) and that an ECM flash would put them in our pickups rpm range.

we had a 24V cummins in our *gasp* ford F750 bucket truck. Whether or not it was running the VP-44 I could not tell you but from what others have said I gather it was. I do remember it having a really low rev limiter but I couldn't tell you what rpm, just that it would fall flat on it's face if you didn't shift.

As printed that is wrong information. The ECM will not raise the rpm of the VP pump. There is a module on the VP that can be flashed by the proper equipment, but for all practical purposes that is above our abilities to achieve.
